What is REET?
REET stands for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers, conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE). It is a state-level eligibility test to recruit qualified teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in government schools of Rajasthan.
Who Can Apply?
- Level 1 (Primary Teacher):
For teaching Classes 1 to 5, candidates must have:- A Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or equivalent qualifications.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education.
- Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher):
For teaching Classes 6 to 8, candidates need:- A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Integrated B.Ed. programs such as B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. are also accepted.

Exam Pattern and Subjects
- Level 1 (Primary Teacher):
The exam includes 5 subjects:- Child Development & Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
- Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher):
The exam includes 4 subjects:- Child Development & Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II
- Mathematics/Science or Social Studies (depending on the candidate’s specialization).
Is There Negative Marking?
No, there is no negative marking in the REET exam. Candidates can attempt all questions without penalty for wrong answers.
Validity of the REET Certificate
- Certificates for REET 2022 and later exams are valid for a lifetime.
- Certificates from REET 2021 and earlier are valid for three years, as per the previous rule.
How Many Attempts Are Allowed?
There is no limit on the number of attempts for REET. Candidates can appear as many times as they wish, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
